First off, thanks Ace. I have progressed more in a month since finding your videos on youtube than I have the rest of my life dancing.
On to the topic of discussion. What does everyone like to wear on their feet when breaking?
I wear my skate shoes a lot but they have a tendency to flip off whenever I kick too much. I practice at home with a pair of keens but those aren't exactly cool to wear out while breaking.
I use my diadora shoes... it's a "golf style" shoes... and i tie them a bit stronger so they wont fly off...
if you don't know what im talking about so here is a picture of Nike shoes... http://www.getit.co.il/ie2/HugePic.asp?PID=38043
it's somthing like that :)
and when i practice i use my nike shox
(looks kinda like this: http://www.getit.co.il/ie2/HugePic.asp?PID=32649)
hope i answerd your question :)
ha and first off from me !! Thanks so much for telling me that. I really am trying to get more videos going. Better produced and more focused on instruction versus a mix of comedy.
Now the shoes: Its such an interesting thing for dancers because honestly for each style the shoe could very easily change. For breaking, I personally prefer a tighter fit, lightweight shoe, with some grip on the front for footwork and so i don't slip when entering power moves.
the nikes that A.V.E suggest are nice. I mostly prefer worn in running shoes. They are light and less bulky than cross trainers. Asics are great in my opinion. Pumas are also excellent. Shoes that are shaped like the "Clyde" are excellent for bboyin. Although these days they are a "speciality" item and can be a bit pricey for a shoe that you will rip up. There is also a shoe at Walmart I used to wear called it the wallie. Ha I don't know if they carry it anymore but it was great. Another "popular" shoe is the indoor soccer shoe for breakin specifically. Any of the them. That would be personal preference. Aight i'm out homies!!! Keep Dancing
Hm I always tend to use a pair of fairly close fitting low cut air-forces not advertising for nike or anything i just like the mediumish grip on em........not too much not too little.
